Recordings contain libation poetry, carnival songs, dance music, talking drum and royal drum performances, agogo gong performances, and speaking in tongues. Recordings also contain interviews with fetish priestesses, a lecture for an oral literature class led by Ko Nimo, and various Christian religious rites. Performances were recorded during fetish ceremonies, festivals, spirit possession rites, and funerals, and were performed by Asafo warrior groups, carnival musicians, and by various musicians and religious figures of the Ga, Fanti, and Ewe communities.
